Sit. Stand. Speak.
On the 24th of May, the Don’t Call Me Special and Cardiff People's Assembly stood defiantly across from the Bevan statue in Cardiff... the symbolic birthplace of the NHS to deliver one message loud and clear:
Disabled people will not be silent.
As cruel PIP cuts and benefit reforms threaten to tear lives apart, campaigners rallied together to launch what they called “a new revolution.” In the face of government indifference, Don’t Call Me Special pledged to be “the voice of the voiceless—the disabled voice of the voiceless—and we will die trying.”
